How can I talk about pain to my therapist?
Your therapist may ask you to tell him/her how your pain feels on a scale on 0-10. On this scale zero is no pain, one is hardly noticeable and ten is the worst possible pain you could ever imagine. Other common questions such as, how long have you had your pain? how long does you pain last? what makes the pain better? what makes the pain worse? may arise in order to measure your pain.
Is there anything I can to help relieve pain?
Yes. For example, concentrating on your breathing may ease pain. Everyday exercise can ease pain. Using click therapies, your therapist will work with you and pass on all of the techniques you require in order to manage your pain.
Can therapy help with my pain?
Yes. Pain can make you tired, anxious, depressed and grumpy. This can make the pain even worse, making you fall into a downward spiral. Living with pain is not easy and you can be your own worst enemy by being stubborn, not pacing your activities every day and not accepting your limitations.
